Spring Cleaning for the Office & Beyond

It’s Time for Spring Cleaning!

Get out those dustpans, clean out those cupboards and reorganize both your business and personal life, so you can be as productive and efficient as possible for the remainder of the year. Here are a couple ways to save some time in each step of your spring-cleaning.

Eliminate Waste

Eliminate Desk Waste

If your desk looks similar to the one above, it may be time to assess if you need everything cluttering your workspace. If you don’t need an item or haven’t used it for 6 months or more, consider eliminating it from your space. Simply toss unusable items in the trash or recycling bin and donate or sell any items that can be reused or repurposed. You can also shred old documents that contain any sensitive information to free up some room.

Reorganize

Once you have eliminated the items you no longer want or need, take some time to reorganize your space according to your organization style. Consider labeling your storage containers by using one of an assortment of high-quality, durable label makers. Also, think about clearing your floor of tangled cords by using some Command cable management products or hanging up miscellaneous items with Command hooks and hangers. Small steps make a big impact, so take the time to reorganize your space.

Clean & Disinfect

Both your home and office collect germs, dust, allergens, and other irritants, so it’s important to thoroughly clean and disinfect regularly. There is no better time for a deep clean than immediately after you’ve freed up the clutter from your space. Diversey glass and multipurpose cleaners are the perfect items to have on hand to help with your surface level cleaning, while Diversey floor, bathroom and kitchen cleaners are ideal for a deeper, more disinfected clean.

Replenish Your Stock

Be prepared for the rest of the year by stocking your space with the items you need to maintain a germ-free home and office space. Be sure you have plenty of Marcal paper towels and environmentally-friendly Seventh Generation cleaning products on hand to clean up those every day spills and messes. When you stay on top of dirt and grime, next year's spring cleaning will seem like a walk in the park.

Commit to Cleanliness

Was Your Hands

Good hand hygiene significantly decreases the level of contamination in any space. Be sure you also have plenty of soap and hand. Also consider placing an air purifier in your space. Air purifiers are a great way to eliminate airborne pathogens and can greatly reduce the amount of dust and allergens in your air. They are a fantastic way to keep you and your coworkers, clients and family healthy year-round.

As you can see, spring cleaning for the office and beyond doesn't have to be hard. In fact, it can be a rewarding experience that enables you to let go of days gone by and embrace the present.
