How ColorLok Technology Works

ColorLok Technology is proven to provide better print quality versus traditional paper. In a previous blog, we wrote about what exactly ColorLok Technology is and today we’re going to explain how it works.

If you are looking for a superior print quality, make sure to get paper with the ColorLok stamp. Your printing will experience bolder blacks and brighter colors. Furthermore, your inkjet printer will be able to print quicker.  But how is this achieved?

ColorLok Technology has a specific chemical interaction that holds ink on the top layer of paper. This chemical interaction is when the pigments (negatively charged) come in contact with salt (positively charged) the pigments flocculate. If you add salt when you are manufacturing paper, it allows pigments to very quickly mobilize and stay at the surface of the paper. Furthermore, this reduces feathering that makes images seem blurry. With traditional paper that does not have ColorLok Technology, ink will penetrate too deep and will cause blacks to turn gray.

If you use a laser printer, don’t worry because this technology will not harm it and will actually allow your laser printer to last longer. You will have consistent higher print quality. And for those who are looking to reduce their company’s carbon footprint, don’t worry because you can go green by using recycled paper. Furthermore, the price is about the same as regular paper. It is a win win situation.
